This discussion panel offers an opportunity to illuminate how the challenges of raising the investment appeal of national jurisdictions and fostering the legal framework for a favourable business climate and economic advancement are being addressed at the national and international level. The speakers will explain and compare the current approaches practiced in Russia, in France and elsewhere in the world, and will also profile many different legal initiatives in this field.

Magistrate of the judicial order, practised as a magistrate before becoming investigating judge in Paris.
Then she joined the central administration of the Ministry of Justice where she was head of the family law office and then Deputy-Director of human resources for the judiciary.
Afterwards she was nominated President of the District Court of Senlis.
Since September 2017, she has been Deputy-Director of Civil Affairs and Seal at the Ministry of Justice of France.
In July 2016, she was made Knigh of the Legion of Honour.

Licensed to practice by the Paris and Berlin Bars, Valéry Denoix de Saint Marc has been a partner at the firm ‘August Debouzy’ since 1998. Working in the Corporate group, he advises French and international clients on mergers & acquisitions, joint-ventures, real estate transactions and financing agreements. Valéry also works in international arbitration. He acts as an arbitrator as well as representing clients in ad hoc proceedings or proceedings governed by the rules of arbitration bodies. He is one of the firm’s main spokespersons in dealings with partner firms abroad.

Graduated in french litterature (bachelor 1979), psychology (bachelor 2014), law (Phd 1986), Sylvaine Poillot Peruzzetto started her carrer in 1986 as lawyer in Paris (Jeantet law firm) then in London and Southampton (Lamport Bassett solicitors);
Exercied as french assistant in the University Paris 2 and in in King’s college London from 1986 till 1988;
Became inhouse lawyer for the company Michelin in 1989;
Passed the french competitive examination of agregation in law in 1993, exercised as Professor in law in the university Toulouse 1 Capitole till 2015 and was from 2008 till 2015 Vice president for international relations for this university;
Created in Toulouse the European School of law;
Specialised in EU competition law and EU private international law.
Since 2005, she has been in charge of the continuing training of judges in matters of private international law, competition law, and the technique of reading the judgments of the Court of Cassation.
She is the Scientific Director of the Dalloz Encyclopedia of European Law.
In January 2015, she became judge for the French Supreme Court (Cour de cassation) in the commercial chamber.
