The authors of the best students' essays of the competition, which was dedicated to 50 years of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, were awarded at the IX St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

The Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the SPILF Organizing Committee Aleksandr Konovalov made welcome remarks at the beginning of the ceremony. He pointed out high quality of papers at this competition and thanked all the participants.

The 2nd year student of Tver State University Anastasia Voronets was awarded with the first place for her paper “The Application of Convention Norms by International Courts: Chaos or Order?”. The 1st year master degree student of the Russian Private Law School Yakuba Bisultanova was awarded with the second place for her paper “Pacta Sunt Servanda Principle: New Understanding”. The 3rd year student of Lomonosov Moscow State University Darya Ryazanova was awarded with the honorable third place for her paper “Analysis of Interpretation Approaches of the Notion “Temporary Application of the International Treaty”: Alternative View to the YUKOS Case Decision”.

The laureates of the competition will get an opportunity to have a summer internship in Strasbourg Office of the Representative of the Russian Federation in the European Court of Human Rights Mikhail Galperin.
