The VII St Petersburg International Legal Forum will take place on May 16–20, 2017 in St Petersburg, where government authorities, representatives of the judiciary, leading legal experts, scholars, educators and businessmen from many countries will share their expertise and best practices, discuss fostering cooperation between legal systems, current state and development prospects of legal regulation in various industries and public relations spheres.
Anna Popova, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor), will make a presentation within the Forum’s business programme concerning the current state and development prospects of the national system of consumer rights protection.
In her presentation, the head of Rospotrebnadzor will highlight certain historical aspects of formation of the legislative basis of consumer rights protection in Russia, describe the current situation and promising areas of legal regulation in this sphere (including international context), present general results of federal state control of the protection of consumer rights and relevant legal precedents, present Rospotrebnadzor’s activities related to consumer’s legal and financial education, informing and consulting and highlight the results of the meeting of the Presidium of the State Council of the Russian Federation concerning the National System of Consumer Rights Protection.
