The one-time personal scholarship is awarded to authors of the best essays on issues of private law (including law of obligations, contractual, corporate, and private international law) or on legal integration in the Eurasian space (including a comparison of legal systems, ideas on harmonization of national legislation of the EEU member states and effective international cooperation).
Over 70 works were submitted to the contest by students of the leading universities from various regions of Russia. The winners included: Ekaterina Ivanova, first year master student of S. Alekseev Private Law Research Center under the President of the Russian Federation, for essay “Good Faith Principle: theory and law-enforcement issues in comparative-legal aspect” (1st place); Anastasia Mikhaleva, third-year bachelor student of the Faculty of Law of Siberian Federal University, for essay “Legal Expense Insurance: Foreign Experience and Russian Prospects” (2nd place); Nikita Tsepkov, fourth-year bachelor student of the Faculty of Law of the Higher School of Economics National Research Center, for essay “Contractual freedom limit and the protection of the weaker party in insurance agreement” (3rd place).
“The works are submitted by our colleagues from the best Russian universities and, as I’ve been told, their level is very high. We are glad that most deserving candidates got the opportunity to present their views on the current private law problems. Sure enough, all the works, submitted to the contest will be developed in future and will provide the basis for further research”.
